وَرِثَ
waritha
he inherited

وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَاثُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
wa-lillāhi mīrāthu as-samāwāti wal-arḍ
And to Allah belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth (3:180)
فَلَاحٌ
falāḥ
success / prosperity / salvation
A2nounroot: ف-ل-ح
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
qad aflaḥa al-muʾminūn
Certainly the believers have succeeded (23:1)
رِجْسٌ
rijs
impurity / abomination / filth
B2nounroot: ر-ج-س
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ
innamā yurīdu Allāhu liyadhhiba ʿankumu ar-rijsa ahla al-bayt
Allah only wishes to remove from you impurity, O people of the household (33:33)
حِكْمَةٌ
ḥikmah
wisdom

يُؤْتِي الْحِكْمَةَ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَمَنْ يُؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ أُوتِيَ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا
yuʾtī al-ḥikmata man yashāʾu wa-man yuʾta al-ḥikmata faqad ūtiya khayran kathīrā
He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has been given much good (2:269)
بَاطِلٌ
bāṭil
falsehood / vain / null
A2nounroot: ب-ط-ل
وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا
wa-qul jāʾa al-ḥaqqu wa-zahaqa al-bāṭilu inna al-bāṭila kāna zahūqā
And say: Truth has come, and falsehood has departed. Indeed, falsehood is bound to depart (17:81)
سَخَّرَ
sakhkhara
he subjected / he made subservient

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ
alam tara anna Allāha sakhkhara lakum mā fī al-arḍ
Do you not see that Allah has subjected to you whatever is on the earth? (22:65)
تِلَاوَةٌ
tilāwah
recitation (of the Quran)

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَتْلُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ
inna alladhīna yatlūna kitāba Allāhi wa-aqāmū aṣ-ṣalāh
Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer (35:29)
تَدَبُّرٌ
tadabbur
reflection / contemplation / pondering

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ
afalā yatadabbarūna al-Qurʾān
Then do they not reflect upon the Quran? (4:82)
ابْتَلَى
ibtalā
he tested / he put to trial

وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ
wa-idhi ibtalā Ibrāhīma rabbuhū bikalimātin fa-atammahunna
And when Abraham was tested by his Lord with words and he fulfilled them (2:124)
هِجْرَةٌ
hijrah
migration / emigration (for God's sake)

وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوا أَوْ مَاتُوا لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ اللَّهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا
walladhīna hājarū fī sabīli Allāhi thumma qutilū aw mātū layarzuqannahumu Allāhu rizqan ḥasanā
And those who emigrated in the cause of Allah and then were killed or died - Allah will surely provide for them a good provision (22:58)
أَمَّنَ
āmana
he believed / he had faith (variant form)
A1verbroot: أ-م-ن
آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ
āmana ar-rasūlu bimā unzila ilayhi min rabbihī wal-muʾminūn
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and the believers (2:285)
مَقَامٌ
maqām
station / standing place / rank
B1nounroot: ق-و-م
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ
wa-liman khāfa maqāma rabbihī jannatān
And for whoever feared the standing before his Lord are two gardens (55:46)
