طَاغُوتٌ
ṭāghūt
false deity / tyrannical authority / transgressor
B2nounroot: ط-غ-و
يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْجِبْتِ وَالطَّاغُوتِ
yuʾminūna bil-jibti waṭ-ṭāghūt
They believe in superstition and false deities (4:51)
بُرْهَانٌ
burhān
clear proof / evidence / definitive argument

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بُرْهَانٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ
yā ayyuhā an-nāsu qad jāʾakum burhānun min rabbikum
O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord (4:174)
سَكِينَةٌ
sakīnah
tranquility / divine calm / serenity

هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ السَّكِينَةَ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
huwa alladhī anzala as-sakīnata fī qulūbi al-muʾminīn
It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers (48:4)
وَقَارٌ

مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا
mā lakum lā tarjūna lillāhi waqārā
What is the matter with you that you do not attribute to Allah due grandeur? (71:13)
رَحِمَ

he had mercy / he showed compassion

وَرَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
wa-raḥmatī wasiʿat kulla shayʾ
And My mercy encompasses all things (7:156)
سُبْحَانَهُ

Glory be to Him / He is exalted

سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
subḥānahū wa-taʿālā ʿammā yushrikūn
Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him (10:18)
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ
astaghfiru Allāh
I seek forgiveness from God

وَاسْتَغْفِرِ اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا
wastaghfiri Allāha inna Allāha kāna ghafūran raḥīmā
And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful (4:106)
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
innā lillāhi wa-innā ilayhi rājiʿūn
Indeed we belong to God and indeed to Him we will return

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
alladhīna idhā aṣābathum muṣībatun qālū innā lillāhi wa-innā ilayhi rājiʿūn
Who, when disaster strikes them, say: Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return (2:156)
رِدَّةٌ
riddah

وَمَنْ يَرْتَدِدْ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ دِينِهِ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُولَئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ
wa-man yartadid minkum ʿan dīnihī fayamut wa-huwa kāfirun fa-ulāʾika ḥabiṭat aʿmāluhum
And whoever of you reverts from his religion and dies as a disbeliever - for those, their deeds are nullified (2:217)
تَجْوِيدٌ
tajwīd

وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا
wa-rattili al-Qurʾāna tartīlā
And recite the Quran with measured recitation (73:4)
مُصِيبَةٌ
muṣībah
calamity / affliction / trial

مَا أَصَابَ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ
mā aṣāba min muṣībatin illā bi-idhni Allāh
No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah (64:11)

ikhlāṣ
sincerity / purity of devotion

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
qul huwa Allāhu aḥad
Say: He is Allah, the One (112:1)
