أَجْرٌ
ajr
reward / recompense / wage
A2nounroot: أ-ج-ر
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
inna alladhīna āmanū wa-ʿamilū aṣ-ṣāliḥāti lahum ajrun ghayru mamnūn
Indeed, those who believed and did righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted (41:8)
حَسَنَةٌ
ḥasanah
good deed / good thing / blessing
A2nounroot: ح-س-ن
مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا
man jāʾa bil-ḥasanati falahū ʿashru amthālihā
Whoever comes with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof (6:160)
سَيِّئَةٌ
sayyiʾah
bad deed / sin / evil
A2nounroot: س-و-أ
وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا
wa-man jāʾa bis-sayyiʾati falā yujzā illā mithlahā
And whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except its equivalent (6:160)
اسْتَغْفَرَ
istaghfara
he sought forgiveness

وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ
wastaghfirū rabbakum thumma tūbū ilayh
And ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him (11:3)
صَبْرٌ
ṣabr
patience / perseverance / steadfastness

وَاصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
waṣbir wa-mā ṣabruka illā billāh
And be patient, and your patience is not but through Allah (16:127)

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
qul huwa Allāhu aḥad
Say: He is Allah, the One (112:1)
شِرْكٌ

إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ
inna ash-shirka laẓulmun ʿaẓīm
Indeed, association with Allah is great injustice (31:13)
مُنَافِقٌ

إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ
inna al-munāfiqīna fī ad-darki al-asfali mina an-nār
Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire (4:145)
شَهِدَ

he witnessed / he testified / he was present

شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
shahida Allāhu annahu lā ilāha illā huw
Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him (3:18)
عَدُوٌّ
ʿaduww
enemy / foe

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا
inna ash-shayṭāna lakum ʿaduwwun fattakhidhūhu ʿaduwwā
Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy (35:6)
وَلِيٌّ
waliyy
protector / guardian / ally / saint

اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
Allāhu waliyyu alladhīna āmanū
Allah is the Protector of those who have believed (2:257)
نَصِيبٌ

لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا اكْتَسَبُوا وَلِلنِّسَاءِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا اكْتَسَبْنَ
lir-rijāli naṣībun mimmā iktasabū wa-lin-nisāʾi naṣībun mimmā iktasabn
For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned (4:32)
