جِنٌّ

jinn

jinn (invisible beings)

قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْجِنِّ

qul ūḥiya ilayya annahū istamaʿa nafarun mina al-jinn

Say: It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened (72:1)

مَلَائِكَةٌ

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ جَاعِلِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ رُسُلًا أُولِي أَجْنِحَةٍ

al-ḥamdu lillāhi fāṭiri as-samāwāti wal-arḍi jāʿili al-malāʾikati rusulan ulī ajniḥaḥ

Praise be to Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, who made the angels messengers having wings (35:1)

قُرْآنٌ

إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَهْدِي لِلَّتِي هِيَ أَقْوَمُ

inna hādhā al-qurʾāna yahdī lillatī hiya aqwam

Indeed, this Quran guides to that which is most suitable (17:9)

تَوْرَاةٌ

Tawrāh

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا التَّوْرَاةَ فِيهَا هُدًى وَنُورٌ

innā anzalnā at-Tawrāta fīhā hudan wa-nūr

Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light (5:44)

إِنْجِيلٌ

Injīl

Gospel

وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْإِنْجِيلَ فِيهِ هُدًى وَنُورٌ

wa-ātaynāhu al-Injīla fīhi hudan wa-nūr

And We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light (5:46)

بَعْثٌ

baʿth

resurrection / raising up

وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُورِ

wa-anna as-sāʿata ātiyatun lā rayba fīhā wa-anna Allāha yabʿathu man fī al-qubūr

And the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and Allah will resurrect those in the graves (22:7)

ثَوَابٌ

thawāb

reward (from God)

فَآتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الْآخِرَةِ

fa-ātāhumu Allāhu thawāba ad-dunyā wa-ḥusna thawābi al-ākhirah

So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter (3:148)

عِقَابٌ

ʿiqāb

punishment / retribution

إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ

inna Allāha shadīdu al-ʿiqāb

Indeed, Allah is severe in punishment (2:196)

شَفَاعَةٌ

مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ

man dhā alladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahū illā bi-idhnihī

Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? (2:255)

قَدَرٌ

qadar

decree / destiny / divine preordainment

إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ

innā kulla shayʾin khalaqnāhu biqadar

Indeed, all things We created with predestination (54:49)

غَيْبٌ

unseen / hidden realm

ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِلْمُتَّقِينَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ

dhālika al-kitābu lā rayba fīhi hudan lil-muttaqīna alladhīna yuʾminūna bil-ghayb

This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for the God-conscious who believe in the unseen (2:2-3)

كَلِمَةٌ

وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ صِدْقًا وَعَدْلًا

wa-tammat kalimatu rabbika ṣidqan wa-ʿadlā

And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice (6:115)
