نِيَّةٌ
niyyah
intention / purpose
B1nounroot: ن-و-ي
وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ
wa-mā umirū illā liyaʿbudū Allāha mukhlisīna lahu ad-dīn
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion (98:5)
وَحْدَانِيَّةٌ
waḥdāniyyah
divine unity / absolute oneness
B2nounroot: و-ح-د
وَإِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ
wa-ilāhukum ilāhun wāḥidun lā ilāha illā huwa ar-Raḥmānu ar-Raḥīm
And your god is one God. There is no deity except Him, the Most Merciful (2:163)
مُبَارَكٌ
mubārak
blessed

كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ
kitābun anzalnāhu ilayka mubārakun liyadabbarū āyātih
A blessed Book which We have revealed to you, that they might reflect upon its verses (38:29)
أَمِينٌ
amīn
trustworthy / faithful / honest

إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
innī lakum rasūlun amīn
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger (26:107)
صَمَدٌ

The Eternal Refuge / The Self-Sufficient / The Absolute

Allāhu aṣ-Ṣamad
Allah, the Eternal Refuge (112:2)
عَقِيدَةٌ

آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ كُلٌّ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ
āmana ar-rasūlu bimā unzila ilayhi min rabbihī wal-muʾminūna kullun āmana billāhi wa-malāʾikatihī wa-kutubihī wa-rusulih
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and the believers. Each one has believed in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers (2:285)
سُنَّةٌ
sunnah
way / practice / established custom

سُنَّةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ اللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا
sunnata Allāhi allatī qad khalat min qablu wa-lan tajida li-sunnati Allāhi tabdīlā
This is the established way of Allah which has occurred before. And never will you find in the way of Allah any change (48:23)
زُخْرُفٌ
zukhruf
adornment / gilding / glitter
B2nounroot: ز-خ-ر-ف
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذَتِ الْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَازَّيَّنَتْ
ḥattā idhā akhadhati al-arḍu zukhrufahā wazzayyanat
Until when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified (10:24)
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīr
warner / one who warns
B1nounroot: ن-ذ-ر
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا
innā arsalnāka bil-ḥaqqi bashīran wa-nadhīrā
Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner (2:119)
بَشِيرٌ
bashīr
bearer of good tidings / bringer of good news
B1nounroot: ب-ش-ر
وَمَا نُرْسِلُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ
wa-mā nursilu al-mursalīna illā mubashshirīna wa-mundhirīn
And We send not the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners (6:48)
فَاتِحَةٌ
fātiḥah
opening / the Opening (first surah)
A1nounroot: ف-ت-ح
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ
wa-laqad ātaynāka sabʿan mina al-mathānī wal-Qurʾāna al-ʿaẓīm
And We have certainly given you seven of the often repeated verses and the great Quran (15:87)
خَاتِمَةٌ
khātimah
conclusion / ending / seal
B2nounroot: خ-ت-م
خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
khitāmuhū miskun wa-fī dhālika falyatanāfasi al-mutanāfisūn
Its seal is musk. So for this let the competitors compete (83:26)
