B2noun
بُرْهَانٌ
burhān
clear proof / evidence / definitive argument
Example
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بُرْهَانٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ
yā ayyuhā an-nāsu qad jāʾakum burhānun min rabbikum
O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord (4:174)
Grammar
Masculine noun. Quadriliteral root. Plural: بَرَاهِينُ (barāhīn). Refers to the strongest kind of proof — irrefutable evidence. The Quran itself is called a burhān.
Culture
The Quran demands burhān (proof) — 'bring your proof if you are truthful' (2:111). Islam encourages evidence-based conviction, not blind faith.
