wa-man aẓlamu mimman manaʿa masājida Allāhi an yudhkara fīhā ismuh
And who are more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His mosques? (2:114)
Grammar
Masculine noun (mifʿal pattern, instrument noun). From نَبَرَ (to elevate/raise). Plural: مَنَابِرُ (manābir). The platform from which the Friday sermon (khuṭbah) is delivered.
Culture
The Prophet's minbar in Madinah was just three steps. The minbar became the symbol of Islamic religious authority and public address.
