Defective verb (nāqiṣ). Past: هَدَى, Present: يَهْدِي. Imperative: اِهْدِ. Related: هُدًى (guidance), هَادٍ (guide). God is الْهَادِي (The Guide).
This supplication from Surah Al-Fatiha is recited by every Muslim at least 17 times daily in the five prayers. It is the most repeated prayer in Islam.
