Masculine noun (maṣdar). Verb: طَلَّقَ (Form II, to divorce). Surah aṭ-Ṭalāq (65) provides detailed divorce procedures and women's rights.

Culture

Islam permits divorce but the Prophet ﷺ called it 'the most hated of permissible things to God.' The Quran mandates dignity and fairness in the process.
